In the phosphate ore flotation process, the generation and control of foam are critical factors affecting production efficiency and economic benefits. Excessive or overly stable foam leads to a series of production pain points: foam carrying large amounts of slime into the concentrate, resulting in a decline in concentrate grade; foam overflow causing slurry loss and deteriorating the production environment; overuse of modifiers to suppress foam, increasing reagent costs; and unstable foam directly affecting flotation cell level control, leading to operational fluctuations and difficulties in ensuring recovery rates.
Addressing these common needs, Chemi Tech, with its deep understanding of mineral processing, has developed a series of high-efficiency defoamers for phosphate flotation. Our solution is not simply adding general-purpose agents but provides precise chemical defoaming and foam suppression based on analysis of the foaming system (such as collectors, gangue minerals, etc.). The core advantages lie in rapidly breaking existing foam and long-term inhibition of foam regeneration, while having no negative impact on the main flotation process and not reducing the floatability of the target mineral.
The specific application steps are as follows: First, analyze foam samples to assess the cause and characteristics of the foam. Second, based on the analysis results and on-site process conditions, screen or formulate a targeted defoamer product. Third, conduct laboratory or on-site trials to determine the optimal addition point (usually in the conditioning or roughing stage) and dosage (typically at very low concentrations). Finally, provide on-site application guidance and effect tracking to ensure stable performance of the defoamer and make fine-tuning optimizations based on production.
We served a concentrator enterprise troubled by high foam. In its original process, due to changes in ore properties, the flotation foam was voluminous and viscous, causing fluctuations in phosphate grade of the concentrate and frequent gate adjustments by operators. After on-site diagnosis by Chemi Tech technical personnel, we provided a customized defoamer CT-803. After adding it at the determined point in minute quantities, the flotation cell level quickly became clear and stable, the foam layer thickness reduced by approximately 60%, and its fluidity improved. Ultimately, without changing the main process, the enterprise achieved stable concentrate grade, reduced mineral loss due to foam overflow, and optimized total reagent costs.
Choosing Chemi Tech means opting for production support based on professional analysis and customization. We are committed to helping phosphate flotation enterprises achieve smoother, more economical, and more efficient production operations through effective defoaming solutions.
