Recently, the R&D team of Chemi Tech, addressing the foam control needs in precision manufacturing, successfully introduced a high-performance polyether defoamer, achieving notable application results in the cleaning process of an electronic component manufacturer. This case demonstrates Chemi Tech's core capability of leveraging technological innovation to optimize production processes.
It is reported that the electronic component manufacturer had long been troubled by foam issues during its critical cleaning stage. Foam generated in the process not only overflowed, creating a messy work environment, but more seriously, impeded effective contact and rinsing by the cleaning medium. This could lead to residue on component surfaces, posing potential risks to subsequent processing steps. The enterprise had tried various conventional defoaming methods but faced challenges such as slow defoaming speed, short-lasting foam suppression, or poor compatibility with the cleaning system.
Upon receiving customer feedback, Chemi Tech's technical engineers promptly intervened. Through a comprehensive analysis of the cleaning formulation, operating temperature, circulation system, and foaming characteristics, the engineering team concluded that traditional silicone-based defoamers tended to fail in this specific aqueous system. A solution with stronger penetrating power and system stability was required. To this end, Chemi Tech optimized the polyether chain structure and developed a new polyether defoamer, model CT-EP202. Designed from the outset to maintain high defoaming efficiency and persistent foam suppression under high-speed agitation and elevated temperatures, this product also ensures no visible residue on precision components or adverse effects on subsequent coating adhesion.
After rigorous laboratory simulation testing, the product was sent to the customer site for a pilot trial. Actual application data showed that at the recommended dosage, defoamer could rapidly eliminate existing foam within seconds and continuously suppress foam regeneration for over 8 hours of continuous production, maintaining a stable cleaning tank liquid level. The customer's process supervisor reported that resolving the foam issue led to a smoother cleaning流程, reduced batch processing time, and a quantifiable improvement in the visual inspection pass rate of cleaned components.
This successful collaboration not only solved the specific production challenge for the enterprise but also further validated the adaptability and reliability of Chemi Tech's polyether defoamer under complex working conditions.
