Outdoor jackets require sustained storm protection, but standard non-fluoro repellents degrade rapidly after washing. Tests show jackets treated with typical silicone agents drop from 100 to 70 points (AATCC22) after 5 washes, leaking within 15 minutes under 1000mm/h simulated rain.
Dual crosslinking: Epoxy-amine rigid networks combined with flexible siloxane chains enhance film durability;
Fiber anchoring: Cationic groups strongly bond to fibers, tripling wash resistance versus competitors;
Dynamic reorganization: Hydrophobic segments self-realign in wet conditions, sustaining low surface energy (<20mN/m).
Supplying mountaineering brands, this factory replaced fluorocarbon C6 agents with KMF-303:
Process: Pad-dry-cure (70% pick-up → 120℃×2min → 160℃×45s);
Initial rating: 100 points (AATCC22), matching fluorocarbon agents;
After 30 washes: 92 points retained (vs. 65 for standard non-fluoro);
Storm test (ISO 811): Hydrostatic pressure >20,000Pa, zero leakage.
Now extended to hiking pants and tents, KMF-303 maintains protection at -30℃/5000m altitude.
