Microfoams in high-solid inorganic coatings (>70% solids) cause "pinholes" during spraying. A Jiangsu ceramic coating manufacturer reduced rejection rate from 15% to 0.5% using Chemi Tech KM-780 (polyether-mineral oil composite):
>95% microfoam reduction: Foam layer thickness decreased from 12mm to 0.8mm at 0.3% dosage;
Film density increased 30%, extending salt spray resistance to 1,500 hours;
Compatibility with silica/alumina sols in pH 3-12 systems.
Polyether chains reduce surface tension below 24 mN/m;
Hydrophobic mineral oil ruptures bubble elasticity;
Nano-modified silica (<1 μm) pierces foam structures without causing "fisheyes".
Added 0.4% during quartz powder grinding (60% loading):
Grinding capacity increased 28%;
Zero pinholes in sprayed films;
Adhesion on galvanized steel reached Class 1 (cross-cut test).
