In the aeration stage of wastewater treatment systems, excessive and persistent foam is a common yet troublesome problem. Such foam not only affects the appearance, but also hinders oxygen transfer efficiency, causing the treatment effect to fall short of standards and even leading to the loss of activated sludge along with the foam, directly increasing operating costs and the burden of subsequent treatment. Traditional physical defoaming methods often have short-lived effects and high labor costs, while ordinary chemical defoamers may pose risks such as poor compatibility, unstable effects or adverse effects on microbial activity.

To address these core pain points, Chemi Tech has launched a series of high-performance defoamers dedicated to aeration tanks. Our solution is not a simple supply of products, but a systematic technical service process. First, our technical team goes deep into the site to make a precise diagnosis of the causes of the foam, including analyzing water quality composition, process parameters and microbial status, so as to determine whether the foam is biological, chemical or mechanical in origin.

Based on the diagnosis results, the second step is to tailor or recommend the most suitable defoamer formula for the customer. Chemi Tech defoamers use specially modified polyethers and silicone materials and possess the dual efficacy of rapid foam breaking and lasting foam suppression. Their characteristics lie in good compatibility with water systems and rapid dispersion; they can achieve broad-spectrum defoaming at low dosage, and they have no toxic effect on the microbial community in the aeration tank, without affecting the essential process of biological treatment.

The third step is to carry out bench and pilot verification. We provide samples for customers to test in simulated or actual process sections, ensuring that the defoaming effect, dosing point and dosage are all optimal, and observing the impact on the overall operation of the system to ensure that nothing goes wrong.

We once served an industrial park wastewater treatment plant that used the activated sludge process. The surface of the plant's aeration tank had long been covered with a thick layer of foam, resulting in inaccurate dissolved oxygen measurement, rising energy consumption and fluctuating effluent COD. Through our on-site analysis, we determined that the foam was mainly caused jointly by surfactants in the influent and some filamentous bacteria. We customized a composite defoamer with both antibacterial and foam-breaking functions for the plant and optimized the dosing point to the inlet of the aeration tank. After implementation, the foam was significantly controlled within 24 hours, the visibility of the tank surface was restored, dissolved oxygen regulation became precise, system operation returned to stability, the effluent quality was ensured, and sludge loss was basically eliminated.

Choosing Chemi Tech means choosing a reliable, efficient and worry-free foam control partner. Through professional products and in-depth technical services, we are committed to helping users completely get rid of foam troubles and improve the overall operating efficiency and economic benefits of wastewater treatment systems.
