In the chemical, cleaning-agent and some materials-processing industries, a strongly alkaline working environment is the norm. However, high-concentration alkali liquor markedly reduces the stability of ordinary antifoams, causing them to be rapidly decomposed or to fail through emulsification. The large amount of stubborn foam generated during production not only lowers equipment utilization and affects product quality but may also cause overflow and safety risks, making it a prominent pain point that constrains production efficiency and cost.

To address this core difficulty, the Chemi Tech R&D team carried out in-depth work. We found that the key to antifoam failure in strong-alkali systems lies in the chemical structure of traditional antifoams, which struggles to withstand the continuous attack of hydroxide ions. The solution therefore had to start at the level of molecular design and build a highly stable antifoam system.

Our specific solution steps fall into four parts. The first is precise diagnosis, analyzing the alkali concentration, temperature, stirring intensity and foam-forming substances in the customer's process. The second is custom formulation; we use a specially modified polyether-siloxane composite as the core material, which has extremely strong chemical inertness and can keep its structure intact and active for a long time in environments with a pH as high as 14. The third is process adaptation; we make the antifoam into a form suited to the customer's dosing method, such as an emulsion or a paste, and determine the optimal dosing point and dosage. The fourth is continuous follow-up, providing on-site application guidance and monitoring long-term antifoam performance to ensure stability.

We once served a metal surface treatment additive manufacturer in East China. Its production line used concentrated potassium hydroxide solution at a temperature of around 80 degrees Celsius, and foam overflow was severe during production; several commercially available antifoams all failed within one or two days. After applying the strong-alkali-resistant antifoam provided by Chemi Tech, the foam was controlled immediately and persistently, the product ran stably in the tank liquor for more than four weeks continuously, and the effective dosage was only two thirds that of the previous product. The customer reported that this not only solved the clean-production difficulty but also raised single-batch capacity by about 15%, with overall costs falling noticeably.

With its outstanding chemical resistance and long-lasting performance, Chemi Tech's strong-alkali-resistant antifoam safeguards your production in strong-alkali systems. We are committed to providing not merely a product but a complete solution spanning diagnosis, customization and optimization, helping customers overcome foam difficulties and achieve smooth, efficient and safe production.
