In the natural gas desulfurization and purification process, especially when wet scrubbing processes such as the amine method are used, excessive foam generation is a common and troublesome problem. Too much foam seriously affects desulfurization efficiency, causes entrainment loss of the amine solution, and increases operating costs. More seriously, foam can cause falsely high liquid levels inside the tower and false instrument alarms, and may even trigger equipment corrosion and pipeline blockage, threatening the stability and safety of the entire system.

The market pain point is clear: many existing defoaming products either have short-lived effects and require frequent addition, increasing operational complexity and cost; or they have poor compatibility and may affect the chemical performance of the desulfurizing agent itself; or they lack sufficient stability in the harsh environments of high temperature, high pressure, and hydrogen sulfide content, and quickly fail.

In response to these core pain points, Chemi Tech has launched a dedicated series of natural gas desulfurization defoamers. Our solution is based on in-depth research into the desulfurization process system, and the product design follows these key steps: first, through formula optimization, ensuring that the defoamer has good chemical compatibility with the desulfurization amine solution and other additives without affecting the sulfur capture efficiency of the main process. Second, special-structure active ingredients are selected so that they can quickly penetrate and destroy the foam liquid film, achieving immediate defoaming. More importantly, these ingredients have lasting foam-suppression performance, preventing foam from being generated again in large amounts during continuous operation and significantly extending the dosing cycle. Finally, the product undergoes special treatment to remain stable in the high-temperature, acidic, and hydrocarbon-containing environments common in desulfurization systems, without decomposing on its own or producing harmful by-products.

A specific application case: in the desulfurization unit of a natural gas processing plant, foam problems once caused the amine solution loss rate to exceed the expected value by 15% per month, and frequently triggered liquid level alarms. After introducing Chemi Tech's customized defoamer, operators added it to the circulating amine solution system at the recommended initial dosage. The foam was significantly controlled within a few hours, and the amine solution entrainment visibly decreased. After a month of continuous operation monitoring, the amine solution loss rate returned to the normal design range, and the number of liquid level fluctuation alarms dropped by more than 80%. The defoamer dosing frequency was only one-third that of the similar products used previously, and the system operation returned to stability and efficiency.

Chemi Tech's defoamer is more than just adding a chemical; it provides a complete technical support program covering product selection, dosage guidance, and effect monitoring, aimed at helping customers fundamentally alleviate foam problems and achieve economical and reliable operation of the desulfurization process.
