In the preparation of alumina ceramics, refractories and advanced ceramics, achieving long-term stable dispersion of alumina powder in waterborne or solvent systems is a common technical challenge. Slurries tend to settle and cake, causing production interruptions, uneven product composition and performance fluctuations, which directly affect the quality of the final product and production efficiency.

The common pain points in the market are concentrated in several aspects: first, poor dispersion stability, with hard sediment forming after standing that is difficult to stir evenly again; second, poor control of slurry viscosity, either too thin leading to low solid content, or too thick affecting leveling and casting; and third, compatibility issues between the dispersant and the system that may introduce impurities and affect product sintering and performance. These pain points not only cause waste of raw materials but also slow down the production rhythm.

In response to these needs, the Chemi Tech R&D team has launched a series of high-performance dispersants dedicated to alumina. Our solution is based on in-depth research into the surface electrical properties of alumina and, through a unique molecular structure design, provides a dual stabilization mechanism of powerful electrostatic repulsion and steric hindrance.

The specific implementation steps are clear and definite: Step one, system diagnosis and selection. Our engineers help customers analyze powder characteristics, medium pH value and process requirements, and recommend the best-matching dispersant from the Chemi Tech product line. Step two, optimization of addition and process. We determine the optimal dispersant dosage and provide detailed process parameters for addition sequence, stirring speed and time, ensuring the dispersant performs at its full potential. Step three, stability evaluation and adjustment. The treated slurry is tested for long-term stability, viscosity and rheology, and fine-tuned based on the results to reach the customer's ideal process state.

We once helped an electronic ceramics manufacturer in East China solve its alumina substrate slurry problem. The dispersant the customer originally used showed obvious sedimentation after 48 hours of storage, with clear liquid separating at the top of the slurry. After adopting a customized Chemi Tech dispersion solution, the slurry maintained a uniform suspended state throughout a 15-day standing test, could return to flow with a slight shake, and its viscosity stability improved markedly. This improvement increased the smoothness of the customer's casting production line and effectively ensured batch-to-batch consistency.

Choosing a professional dispersant is a key step in improving the quality of deeply processed alumina products. Chemi Tech is committed to helping customers overcome dispersion challenges with precise chemical solutions, achieving a stable and efficient production process.
