Chemi Tech's New Leveling Agent Successfully Applied in Precision Electronic Coatings, Boosting Surface Performance

Recently, the R&D center of Chemi Tech officially announced a key application breakthrough for its newly launched high-performance leveling agent in a protective coating project for precision electronic components. This progress marks another step forward in Chemi Tech's technical capabilities within the surface material additives field.

The application project focused on a type of electronic component demanding extremely high surface smoothness and uniformity. Prior to using this new leveling agent, the coating process often faced challenges such as prominent orange peel texture and localized cratering, which affected the final appearance and long-term reliability of the products. The Chemi Tech technical team optimized the molecular structure of the leveling agent to enable faster and more uniform spreading within the system, effectively reducing surface tension gradients.

On the actual production line, the coating material incorporating this leveling agent performed exceptionally. After application, the leveling time shortened, and the smoothness of the film surface improved significantly. Orange peel was virtually eliminated to the naked eye, and mirror gloss was enhanced. More importantly, the adhesion between the coating and the substrate also improved concurrently, providing a solid guarantee for the durability of the end products. Feedback from the project partner indicated that using this additive stabilized the production process and reduced rework rates caused by surface defects.

The project lead at Chemi Tech stated that this successful application is not the end goal.
