In phosphate rock flotation production, excessive, stable foam is a common and troublesome problem. This foam is not the normal foam that benefits separation; it often carries large amounts of useless gangue particles, making the foam layer too thick and sticky with very poor fluidity. This not only causes overflowing and running off, losing valuable minerals, but also seriously contaminates the phosphate concentrate and lowers the grade and recovery of the final product. Frequent shutdowns for cleaning and process interruptions directly drive up production costs and have become a prominent pain point constraining stable, efficient operation of the processing plant.

Faced with this challenge, general-purpose antifoam products often have limited effect or poor persistence. Chemi Tech went deep into phosphate flotation sites and concluded that the root cause of the foam problem is complex, involving ore properties, grinding fineness, the flotation reagent regime (especially collectors and regulators), water quality and equipment operating conditions. Simply adding an antifoam is therefore not a fundamental solution.

What we provide is a systematic solution:

Step one: on-site diagnosis and technical exchange. Our team of engineers visits the site, analyzes the specific points and main causes of foam generation, and reviews the current reagent dosing scheme and process parameters.

Step two: laboratory reproduction and custom formulation. We simulate the site conditions in the lab, reproduce the foam problem, and develop and screen antifoam formulations accordingly. Chemi Tech's antifoam core components are specially designed to quickly penetrate and destroy the liquid film of the foam while being well compatible with the flotation system and not affecting the selective flotation of the target minerals.

Step three: industrial trials and parameter optimization. We provide small batches of custom product for on-site industrial trials, determine the optimal dosing point (such as the cleaner cell, froth cell or before concentration) and dosage, and guide the customer in fine-tuning to achieve fast defoaming and lasting foam inhibition.

Step four: long-term tracking and continuous service. We set up customer files and make regular follow-up visits, offering follow-up product adjustment advice based on minor changes in ore properties or process, to ensure a continuously stable antifoaming effect.

Application case: a domestic phosphate processing plant had long been troubled by excessive foam in its flotation process, with large fluctuations in concentrate grade and low filtration efficiency. After adopting Chemi Tech's custom antifoam solution, added at an extremely low dose at the recommended dosing point, the thick, sticky foam on the surface of the flotation cell dispersed rapidly within a short time, the foam layer became thin and brittle, and fluidity improved markedly. This not only stabilized the production process and reduced overflow losses, but ultimately raised the phosphate concentrate grade by about 1.2 percentage points, while the throughput of the filter increased by about 15%, achieving notable quality and efficiency gains.

Choosing Chemi Tech, you gain not just a drum of antifoam but a comprehensive technical safeguard for phosphate flotation foam problems. We are committed to using professional products and technical service to help your production line run more smoothly and economically.
