In industrial fields such as metalworking and equipment cleaning, strong-alkali cleaners are widely used for their outstanding degreasing and dirt-removing power. However, in systems with mechanical stirring, high temperatures or surfactants, large amounts of stubborn foam easily form. This foam not only overflows the tank and causes raw material waste and environmental pollution, but also seriously masks the surface of workpieces, creating cleaning blind spots and affecting the quality of subsequent processes; foam entrainment also reduces the effective volume of the cleaning tank and slows overall production efficiency.

To address these common industry pain points, and drawing on years of technical accumulation, Chemi Tech has developed a series of antifoams dedicated to strongly alkaline environments. The core strength of our products lies in their outstanding chemical stability: they remain active over the long term under high pH values (typically up to 14) and are not easily decomposed or saponified by strong alkali. Their foam-inhibiting performance is lasting and effectively runs through the entire cleaning process, inhibiting foam formation at the source rather than merely briefly eliminating foam once it has formed.

The specific solution and dosing steps are as follows. First, carry out an on-site assessment to determine the specific stage and severity of foam generation. Second, based on the cleaner formulation, working temperature and circulation intensity, recommend the appropriate Chemi Tech antifoam grade and initial dosage, generally in the range of 0.1% to 0.5% of the total cleaning liquid. When dosing, the product can be slowly dripped directly into the tank liquor under stirring so that it disperses evenly. For systems that generate foam continuously, a small-quantity, multiple-addition approach can be used to maintain the best foam-inhibiting effect. After use, foam can be clearly seen to disappear quickly and not to re-form for a long time; the cleaning liquid contacts the workpieces more fully and the utilization of the tank liquor improves markedly.

We once served a parts manufacturing enterprise in East China. When using a high-temperature strong-alkali degreasing process, this enterprise frequently suffered foam overflow, had to stop the line several times per shift to handle it, and the cleaned parts often showed marks from residual foam. After adopting Chemi Tech's customized antifoam solution, the foam was controlled immediately and persistently, the frequency of line stoppages for cleaning dropped sharply, the first-pass yield of products rose, and the loss of about 15% of the cleaner caused by overflow was also reduced, earning high recognition from the customer for the overall benefits.

Choosing Chemi Tech is not just choosing an antifoam product but choosing a systematic efficiency-improvement solution for foam problems in strong-alkali cleaning. We are committed to using professional products and technical service to help customers achieve cleaner production that is more efficient, more economical and more stable.
